Job Background/context
We are looking for strong candidates to drive execution of Project Cardinal, a strategic banking and lending partnership between Citi and a large national Broker Dealer. Project Cardinal is a long term, multi-product, platform, and technology initiative that requires product development, extensive cross-functional coordination, and significant technology buildup. The strategic partnership is part of our Citi Alliance business, which targets distribution of banking and lending products and services through Independent Financial Advisors, Broker Dealers, Wealth Firms, Tech Platforms and Financial Intermediaries. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to our growing business from the start, benefiting from Citi's considerable strengths and footprint in serving affluent and HNW clients. The role will focus on Business Risk & Controls for the Margin Lending initiatives of Project Cardinal.
Brief Description of the Organization and Role:
Citi's wealth management platform delivers a comprehensive wealth solution to clients across the wealth continuum, with integrated advice and execution, as well as traditional and alternative investments, managed account strategies, world-class research and investment guidance. Our Wealth business serves ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family offices through Citi Private Bank, operates in the affluent and high-net-worth customer relationship tiers of Citigold and Citigold Private Client, offers wealth management in the workplace through Citi Global Wealth at Work and develops and delivers platform and product solutions to external wealth managers with Citi Wealth Services.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the end-to-end management of Margin Lending Business Risk and Control activities for Project Cardinal.
  • Drive a consistent Margin Lending In-Business Risk & Control Environment for Project Cardinal.
  • Provide strategic risk advise for Margin Lending initiatives for Project Cardinal.
  • Work with business, second line Risk and compliance partners to proactively identify emerging risks, develop and track timely completion of the remediation plans.
  • Active participation in relevant Project Cardinal forums to review and drive implementation of robust Margin Lending Risk and Controls.
  • Support issue management and timely resolution of issues for Project Cardinal Margin Lending initiatives.
  • Facilitate root-cause analysis of issues and share lessons learned to drive continuous improvement of the Project Cardinal Margin Lending Risk and Controls environment.

Qualification, Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience of working within a risk, control, compliance, or audit function.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of the Margin Lending business.
  • Extensive experience in Risk and Control, supervision, control and monitoring processes.
  • Knowledge of US Banking Regulations and Project Management.
  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated experience with a proven track record to effectively drive and lead projects by working effectively cross-boundaries in a global organization.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and in particular ability to assess and identify potential Risk and Control issues.
  • Strong interpersonal influencing skills to deliver results and push the organization agenda in a complex environment.
  • Ability to engage at the senior management level and demonstrated communication experience at different levels of organization.
