POSITION OVERVIEW
The Algorithms Engineer I is responsible for developing and optimizing algorithms for Gentex products. The Algorithm Engineer I will contribute to the development and improvement of Gentex technology by engaging in research and development, testing, and evaluation of novel technologies, processes, and/or applications, with an emphasis on classical algorithm development.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop and optimize algorithms for Gentex products across Automotive, Aerospace, Fire Protection, and other areas.
- Collaborate with software and hardware development teams to create and implement algorithms in Gentex products and concepts.
- Identify ways to improve the efficiency of Gentex processes throughout product development and manufacturing.
- Quickly learn new subject matter to be able to contribute to solving complex problems.
- Contribute to the process of data collection, analysis, and evaluation of results.
- Contribute to other groups needing assistance with algorithm development for products, concepts, and processes.
- Develop solutions for real-world, large-scale problems.
- Other duties as assigned.

WHAT TO BRING
- 4 year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
- Strong math skills, especially in linear algebra and statistics
- Experience with all aspects of workflow including data collection, grading, algorithm development, and evaluation
- Strong communication skills to clearly translate an algorithm into a work product usable by another team
WHAT WILL HELP
- Experience in a related industry
- Experience with C/C++, Python, MATLAB
- Experience with signal processing and working with time-series data
- Experience with image processing
- Experience using the Linux command-line interface
- Experience with embedded software
- Familiarity with development using FPGA
- Familiarity with camera ISP pipeline concepts
