JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Political Science is seeking applications for a part-time instructor who can teach online graduate courses on topics related to terrorism, counterterrorism, and the quantitative study to terrorism/counterterrorism.
Job Duties
Instructors are expected to administer pre-prepared course content and effectively guide student's asynchronous learning. This requires regular engagement with students both individually and as a group:

Applicants should submit a current CV and a brief statement of interest. In addition, candidates should be prepared to provide the names, titles, and contact information (telephone, email, and mailing address) of three (3) professional references who can address their teaching skills, if requested.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters. The ASR is available for review here.

- Communicating about and clarifying course material.
- Evaluating student work and providing regular feedback.
- Guiding and participating in online class discussions.
- Holding virtual office hours as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. and a record of scholarly activity and demonstrated expertise in the fields of terrorism and counterterrorism.
