Job Title: Aircraft Wiring Design Engineer

General Summary
This Electrical Applications/Wiring Design Engineer is responsible for Wiring Design and integration tasks associated with the Honda Aircraft Electrical Systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
A background and demonstrated ability are required in the following technical areas:
- Electrical Wiring and Harness Design
- Wiring standards and best practice design
- Aircraft zonal requirements and coordination
- Design considerations for power, ground, signal, and databus wiring
- Wire gauge and type consideration
- Connector and backshell selection
- Miscellaneous electrical harness hardware selection
- Implementation of wiring and harness level system separation and segregation to avoid common cause failure modes
- Development of configuration managed electrical harness design packages
- Fabrication techniques for integrated wiring assemblies
- Wire Diagram and Harness Drawing generation
- Interpretation of system interface control data to conceptual schematics for point-to-point wiring connections between units
- Evolution of conceptual schematics into Aircraft Wiring information
- Coordination of 3D data for implementation into harness design package
- Use of Wiring Design tools to generate wiring diagrams and harness drawings
Education, Work Experience, Certification, and/or Licensure
- BS in Engineering preferred
- 5 or more years of applicable industry-related work experience
- Experience with smart Wiring Design tools such as IGE-XAO, Mentor Graphics, Autocad, Zuken, or similar Wiring Design tool preferred
- Familiarity with PLM systems such as Teamcenter or SmartTeam is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience in the creation and maintenance of aircraft systems wiring diagrams, parts lists, and electrical harness drawings
- Capable of utilizing source control drawings (SCDs), Interface Control Drawings (ICDs), and schematics to create the aforementioned items
- Detailed understanding of, and capability for specification of, aircraft electrical harness components selection, harness design requirements, harness level system separation and segregation, and system integration at the Wiring Design level in a smart software environment
- Capable of working independently
- Must possess excellent coordination skills and work well in a multi-functional team environment to obtain systems design requirements for developing Wiring Design products
