Form of workThis job opportunity is for an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, position description D1366000, within the 108TH AMXS of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position.
Its primary purpose is to inspect, repair, modify, and service aircraft systems, components, and assemblies, both on- and off-aircraft.
Must have the following experience(s):
- Removing and replacing aircraft parts, accessories, and components
- Making adjustments and settings according to established specifications
- Using hand tools and test equipment
Must have 18 months of the following experience(s):
- Installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting
- Functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification
- Coordinating the work of other mechanics
- Scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow
- Instructing lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines
