Description:
- Perform licensed A&P mechanic work on parts 91 & 135 corporate and general aviation aircraft in the Binghamton/Southern Tier region of New York State
Responsibilities:
A&P mechanics perform assembly, disassembly, and repairs required in the completion of airframe overhaul, repair, or modifications, including but not limited to the removal, replacement, and repair of parts of engines, airframes, and systems.
l. Responsible for performing A&P maintenance as well as assisting other licensed mechanics with set up and tear down of the equipment, tools, and supplies used during the repair of customer's aircraft.
ll. Required to respond and perform airline maintenance calls during business hours and rotating after-hours calls with other A&P mechanics.
lll. Required to complete all necessary paperwork in accordance with company, manufacturer, and FAA requirements.
lV. Responsible to maintain work area, tools, and vehicles in clean and safe working conditions.
V. Required to tow and move aircraft during the performance of maintenance duties.
Vl. Assists in the cleaning of parts and components during the repair and assembly of aircraft.
Vll. Performs other tasks and duties associated with the part 145 Repair Station and FBO operations.
Requirements
- Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority.
- Must be able to pass and comply with FAA Drug Program requirements
- Valid unrestricted driver's license
- Good driving record and ability to drive tugs, trucks, and hangar equipment, taxi aircraft, alert to moving vehicles and aircraft
- Positive attitude towards productivity, safety, and quality maintenance
- Available to work shifts and overtime if necessary
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50lbs, bend, stoop, crawl, and kneel frequently in confined spaces
- Must have own set of tools
Experience
- Experience on the mechanical repair of aircraft-through technical training, apprenticeship, schooling, or similar experience is preferred.
- Experience or working knowledge of mechanical devices.
- Salary commensurate with experience
