Aircraft Interior Finishers

Company Overview:

West Star Aviation, in partnership with STS Technical Services, is seeking a skilled Aircraft Interior Finisher to join its team in Grand Junction, Colorado. This role focuses on executing high-quality interior cabinetry finishes that meet our rigorous standards and client expectations.

Position Summary:

As an Aircraft Interior Finisher, you will be responsible for applying various wood finishes, including gloss and satin, to Aircraft Interiors. This position requires a blend of skill, precision, and an understanding of finish processes to develop and complete luxurious aircraft cabinet finishes.

Essential Functions:

• Perform paint and finishing techniques for major aircraft modification projects.
• Accurately identify and match colors for project requirements.
• Work independently on detailed finishing projects as needed.
• Apply knowledge of stains, lacquers, clear coats, and other finishing materials.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shop and its surroundings.
• Conduct maintenance and repairs on shop facilities, equipment, and tooling as required.
• Understand and implement dry sanding, wet sanding, and other finishing processes.

Job Specifications:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is preferred but not required.

Experience:

• At least 3 years of experience in aircraft cabinetry finishes or a related field.
• Proficiency with various chemicals (thinners, catalysts, cleaners, etc.) and safety procedures.
• Basic knowledge of paints and spraying equipment.

Initiative:

• Self-motivated with the ability to maintain a high pace of work.
• Capable of processing work with minimal supervision.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
