This position is responsible for providing detailed, functional, and operational inspection of mechanical and electrical aircraft systems, components, modifications, repair/rework, and experimental aircraft in accordance with company procedures and FAA regulations.

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  1. Monitor Repair Station activities to ensure continual compliance
  2. Interact and communicate with FAA Principal Maintenance and Avionics Inspectors and other FAA Representatives (DAR’s, DER’s, etc.).
  3. Assist in the work processes and coordinate with multiple departments to promote efficiency and completing jobs on time. 
  4. Assist in coordinating Quality Control concerns between multiple departments.
  5. Assist technicians with technical and or regulatory concerns
  6. Assist with other processes/procedures to help ensure all required paperwork is completed in a professional and timely manner.
  7. Help maintain open lines of communication between technicians, lead techs, departments, and other inspectors.
  8. Help with solutions that ensure customers have received results that “Exceed their expectations,” but also meet all regulatory items.
  9. Research aircraft maintenance records to determine the status of “time items” service bulletins and letters, Airworthiness Directives, special inspection requirements, overhaul and maintenance schedule requirements, etc.
  10. Assist in airworthiness decisions based on FAA regulations, sound principles, good judgment, and high standards for the aviation industry.
  11. Monitor repair station activities to ensure compliance with our Quality Control and Repair Station Manuals, Federal Aviation Regulations, and work safety concerns
  12. Help coordinate the scheduling of Quality Control matters with all departments involved
  13. Discuss issues with FAA personnel, manufacturers’ representatives, and or DAR’s as necessary for technical guidance, clarification of issues, determinations of airworthiness, etc.
  14. Prepare Major Repair and Alteration forms, FAA Field Approvals, 8130-3 forms, POH/AFM revisions, POH supplements, weight and balance revisions, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, and other required paperwork, as necessary
  15. Review work order traveler on assigned aircraft for correct detail and timely completion
  16. Prepare maintenance record entries for assigned aircraft (Logbook entries)
  17. Perform inspection of various maintenance actions
  18. Perform Critical Flight Safety (CFS) final inspections and in-progress inspections
  19. Perform final reviews of completed work orders for accuracy and completion of all required data and signatures
  20. Perform final release procedures for aircraft
  21. Assist in resolving customer concerns with respect to quality control issues and or decisions.
  22. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending seminars and reviewing product trade publications

Top candidates will possess:                 

  • Organizational & data entry skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Must possess a positive attitude and ability to work independently to meet key deliverables and objectives
  • Ability to analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability of write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Excellent familiarity with a wide variety of aircraft maintenance operations that preferably include interior and paint operations

Education and Experience:

  • Five plus years’ experience in maintaining piston and turbine powered aircraft preferred
  • Previous experience as a lead technician or other supervisory role preferred
  • Previous experience as a Quality Control Inspector preferred
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
  • Efficient knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations pertinent to Repair Station operations, to include 14CFR Parts 1, 21, 23, 39, 43, 91, 135, and 145
  • Knowledge computer maintenance tracking systems, CAMP’s STARS, CESSCOM, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
