Air Traffic Control (ATC) Subject Matter Expert

Job Description
PRIMARY DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides aviation/Air Traffic ControlSubject Matter Expertise during the installation, integration, and testing of ATC systems into a new Air Traffic Control tower
• Provides subject material used to develop technical documentation for Factory Acceptance Testing, System Operational Verification Testing, Pre-Installation Test Check Out, Cut over Plan, Maintenance Manuals, and Training
• Minimal travel will be required for this position, estimated at one week per year

Requirements
MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma and Formal Technical Training in an ATC field, technical training in Air Traffic Control, Naval Flight Information Group Terminal Instrument Procedures Program, or in U.S. Air Forces Central (USAFCENT) programs, systems, and equipment
• At least 12 years of hands-on experience with Aviation Command and Control Systems that must include at least three of the following five areas. Experience in these areas may be concurrent, but must be in the Aviation Command and Control field:
  
  • Systems requirements
  • Operational requirements
  • Data analysis
  • Test and evaluation
  • Training

In addition, the employee must have the experience and required training for at least one of the following ATC specialty areas:

• Navigational Aids (NAVAIDS) and ATC equipment
• Airfield Operations
• ATC Communications
• ATC Radar

DESIRED SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience with the installation of equipment into a new Air Traffic Control Tower
• Previous ATC experience with the USAF
• Experience developing a Cutover Plan to transfer operations from the old to new tower
• Bachelor of Science in Air Traffic Management

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AND ELIGIBILITY FOR A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL
