Job Description
AECOM is seeking an experienced Air Permitting & Compliance Specialist that will be part of our Air Quality Practice. This position can be located in our Houston or Austin, TX locations. The practice consists of 200+ members ranging in experience from 1 to over 40 years of Air Quality experience.
The candidate will participate in project teams and coordinate with other AECOM offices doing similar work to share knowledge and participate in targeted business development activities. This position will include executing and assisting with managing projects involving Air Quality-related environmental compliance services including air permitting, emissions calculations, performing studies and analyses, regulatory research, and compiling and writing reports and other documents. The candidate will assist with successfully conducting projects for industrial and public clients, while meeting cost, schedule, and quality objectives. Background in Refining, Chemical Production & Oil and Gas preferred.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Serves as technical expert in their domain, recognized as 'go-to' expert internally and externally.
+ Provides guiding direction and oversight on Air Permitting and Compliance engagements.
+ Assists in setting direction and goals for the local business line.
+ Technical point of contact for strategic clients and member of AECOM senior leadership team
+ Air quality compliance strategy development
+ Interface with clients and regulators
+ Perform quality checks on self and other team members' technical work products.
+ Inspect industrial facilities and programs to evaluate operational effectiveness and verify compliance with environmental regulations.
+ Apply knowledge of applicable health and safety requirements and environmental concerns
+ Potential for on-site permitting and compliance support with our portfolio of clients.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree in environmental or chemical engineering or similar degree.
+ 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in Air Quality permitting, including PSD and Title V as well as emissions control and compliance programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Texas air permitting experience preferred.
+ Understanding of EPA and State of TX air regulations, guidelines and policies, additional state air regulations are preferred but not required.
+ Ability to perform emissions calculations using engineering principles.
+ Familiarity with air dispersion modeling.
+ Experience with Air Quality task management, including contributing to proposals, communicating with clients, working in project teams, coordinating technical tasks, and writing reports.
+ Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
+ Must have strong written and oral communication, quantitative, and interpersonal skills.
+ Independent thinker with a strategic mindset while being detail oriented and able to work as part of a team.
+ Candidate must be proactive on projects and demonstrate initiative.
+ Proficient use of PC- based applications (MS Word and Excel) and good typing skills.

+ Due to the nature of this role, U.S Citizenship is required.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $95,000 to $129,000.
