This position is located in the STD/HIV/VH ADAP program area within the Bureau of Communicable Disease Prevention and Control
Processes all ADAP-eligibility for applications, recertifications, and other eligibility documentation for each SC ADAP service tier. Ensures timely completion of data entered in Provide Enterprise (PE), EDMS, and other ADAP systems. Serves as the front-line of support for ADAP services, including internal and external customer service.
Serves as the ADAP Recertification Specialist. Coordinates first and final recertifications letters to ADAP enrollees monthly. Runs ADAP Recertification no response and incomplete reports for each ADAP services tier to close enrollees who have not recertified for eligibility. Closes dual enrolled after recertification closures and coordinates doctor and case managers letters for providers not in Provide Enterprise.
Process all incoming mail for the ADAP program. Scans hard copy applications, recertifications, incomplete information, privacy notices, and insurance assistance notices onto the ADAP server. Notifies medical case managers regarding undeliverable returned mail.
Serves as ADAP first contact by answering the ADAP Toll Free and ADAP Client phone lines. Coordinates client grievances to the Ryan White Program Manager or ADAP Senior Consultant.
Works with all contracted pharmacies to enroll clients and send correspondence containing Protected Health Information (PHI) to applicants, enrollees, and all related service providers. Coordinate pharmacy enrollment including: 1) delivery options; 2) test claims; 3) payer verification; 4) referrals, and 5) release of medication restriction status.
Ensures record and data accuracy for audit readiness and reports. Provides feedback necessary to remove barriers to enrollment and promote adherence in ADAP. Completes timely data entry into all specified intake systems. Provides technical consultation to service provider representatives, pharmacies, and enrollees regarding enrollment as well as reimbursement procedures, questions and program guidelines daily.
Works closely with ADAP Data Coordinator to ensure automation processes in PE are effective at every stage from planning to implementation. Ensure the security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in all aspects of business. Other duties as assigned.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Must possess excellent customer service skills. Must possess a valid driver’s license, travel may be required.

This position is part of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control’s STD/HIV/VH ADAP program area within the Bureau of Communicable Disease Prevention and Control. The work performed supports DHEC’s mission to improve the quality of life for all South Carolinians by protecting and promoting the health of the public and the environment. Effective July 1, 2024, this position will transfer to the South Carolina Department of Public Health created by Senate Bill 399 which provides for the creation of the Department of Public Health to assume the public health-related functions of DHEC.
