Job Title: Aide, Preschool Special Education
ReportsTo: Principal/Program Supervisor
Location: Metzenbaum Center
Contract: Full Time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: The classroom is a Special Education preschool classroom. Perform any combination of the following instructional tasks in a classroom to assist preschool teaching staff by performing the following duties.

Education, Experience & Certification:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training. Must obtain and maintain an Ohio Department of Education Educational Aide Permit and meet all Step Up to Quality requirement for Job and Family Services.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Criminal Records Check: Must comply with Ohio Revised Code 3319.39 - Criminal Records Check.
Drug Testing: Must pass a 10 panel drug screen at time of hire and comply with the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988.

- Reviewing and becoming familiar with student IEP's.
- Preparing and/or organizing instructional materials and lessons.
- Instructing children using appropriate methods and materials.
- Assist with student arrival and/or departure.
- Supervising students during recess or in the absence of the teacher.
- Maintaining appropriate records.
- Behavioral management of children using the appropriate methods and techniques.
- With proper training, assist students with personal health needs and non-medical procedures.
- Position and/or perform one-person or two-person lift of a child when needed.
