The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department is a nationally accredited department and four-time National Gold Medal Award winner for Parks and Recreation Excellence. We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about building better lives and a better community. Our AHOY exercise classes are free, low-impact aerobics classes for active adults ages 50 and up. AHOY stands for "Adding Health to Our Years" and is offered at five recreation centers throughout the city as well as Smith and Trotter Active Adult Centers. As an AHOY instructor, you must be able to create and implement dynamic and engaging exercise routines for active adults. Weekly duties include leading 6-8 low impact aerobics classes of various intensity levels, including strength training, for 45 minutes per class. Work requires the ability to lift and carry folding chairs as needed. A successful candidate must have a flexible schedule, reliable transportation and be willing to teach classes at all seven locations.
This position is a Non-Exempt under FLSA.
