Title: Parts Operations Manager
Department: Parts
Job Objective:
The Parts Operations Manager is responsible for managing parts operations in all locations and divisions to maximize return on investment through, optimizing parts department’s processes, inventory management, customer satisfaction, growing profitable in parts sales and exercising discipline expense control. He or she is ultimately responsible for the integrity and accountability of the parts inventory through a series of audits and process improvement and development.
Responsibilities:
· Analyze parts trends for each store regarding their seasonal turn.
· Make recommendations on parts inventory stocking based on existing and future trends.
· Coordinate the Parts Managers meetings to make sure best practices are being communicated and utilized.
· Monitor key performance metrics and provide associates with individual and team results.
· Communicate with upper management regarding inventory issues.
· Initiate and prepare monthly and annual inventory surplus parts return to vendors.
· Ensure wholesale compensation and obsolescence criteria are met and obtained.
· Maintain a controlled parts inventory, identify variances, and implement corrections.
· Develop the company’s inventory management strategy with the aim of controlling cost within budgetary limits, generate savings, rationalizing inventory and maximizing available working capital.
· Ensures that all Parts Managers follow standard operating procedures.
· Manage and control perpetual inventory stock counting and inventory accuracy checks.
· Minimize overstocks and removal of obsolete or redundant parts.
· Ensure that all parts in stock are well organized and controlled to sufficiently support production and the company goals.
· Provide management with routine information on inventory performance.
· Ensure integrity and accuracy of the stock management system.
· Produce daily and weekly reports to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are controlled and any discrepancies addressed and resolved.
· Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed, and resolved.
· Supervise and control workload of Parts Managers.
· Develop performance standards for all Parts Managers and parts employees.
· Monitor individual performance via observation and review of various productivity metrics.

· Ensures that all parts departments have the right amount of personnel to cover their needs, and work with Parts Managers in the hiring and termination process.
· Provides feedback to location Parts Managers on a regular basis.
· Sets departmental goals regarding pay and personal advancement.
· Maximize use of all order discount programs.
· Establish and maintain a balanced inventory that ensures customers’ needs are met.
· Follow up on all parts returns and credit request.
· Control purchase and ordering procedures to maintain department profitability.
· Provide suggestions on warehouse layout and inventory location to maintain a sensible and effective warehouse design.
Job Specifications:
· 4-year bachelor’s degree (preferred).
· 5+ years’ experience in parts inventory control and management.
· Experience with Inventory Management Software.
· Ability to analyze complex data, prepare reports, and projections.
· Works well in collaboration with others.
· Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work efficiently.
· Strong written and oral communication.
· Excellence driven.
· Microsoft Office Proficient.
· Excellent math skills.
· Must be detail oriented and self-motivated.
