SAIC is seeking an Agile Delivery Lead / Scrum Master with significant Agile Coaching skills to serve in a change leadership role supporting USCENTCOM. This is *not* a PM role. This person will not work alone! They'll enjoy collaborating with a team of mission motivated agile change agents and SAIC's Innovation Dojo coaches. This leader will embed daily with Scrum and Kanban delivery teams to change culture so they benefit from Agile and DevOps values, principles & practices to deliver on the mission. To succeed they must have deep hands-on knowledge of agile methods, be humble, be mission driven, able to influence culture change and genuinely curious about the team's technology.
The Agile Delivery Lead is a hands-on facilitator, servant leader, coach and teacher who is fulfilled by helping teams, the larger organization and executive leadership achieve mission outcomes.
Additional Roles/Responsibilities
- Serve as Teams' Scrum Master (Facilitating ceremonies, coaching the Product Owner and team etc.)
Maintain outstanding working relationships with product owners, other teams, and stakeholders. - Identify and remove impediments that limit team productivity and quality
- Provide agile and other options to improve, innovate, and successfully deliver value.
- Due to the size and stage of this cultural and logistical transition, this person will be expected to consult with other teams to learn and share learning across the organization.
- Collaborate with agile transition team of other scrum masters / Delivery Leads, experienced coaches and those facilitating agility and culture change.
- Over time, after setting up his/her first team successfully, the agile/devops Delivery Lead will be expected to inspire another person to take on the role to get them running smoothly on their own and then embed with new teams
- Work together to figure out how to help dedicated and matrixed system engineers and infrastructure technologists successfully deliver significant infrastructure change in a large-scale government enterprise environment.
- Help the team and organization create and utilize appropriate information radiators (Proficiency with Agile Lifecycle Management (ALM) tracking tools i.e. Azure DevOps / ADO is an advantage)
- Schedule and facilitate agile activities: scrum events, meetings, work sessions, decision-making process, help resolve conflicts and issues.
Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret Clearance required, with the ability to attain a Top Secret Clearance
- Must be a U.S Citizen
- Available to work full time in Tampa, Florida
- Bachelor’s degree & 5+ years of experience. Years of experience will also be considered in lieu of degree
- Three years or more of demonstrated experience coaching agile, scrum and/or DevOps.
- Experience with Lean, Agile, Scrum, DevSecOps and possibly Design Thinking
- Continual direct, timely oral and written communication at the executive level - aligning goals and expectations
- Proven background helping product owners and development teams optimize flow of value (or software) delivery
Preferred:
- Proficient with Agile Lifecycle Management (ALM) tracking tools i.e. Azure DevOps / ADO
- Encourage and guide product owners (customers) to help them do the following: review and write stories, engage directly with the team, answer questions which remove impediments and bring other users or stakeholders to demos for feedback.
- Experience helping leaders shift from command and control progress reporting approach to a flexible, outcomes focuses mindset.
