The Division of Information Technology Services (ITS) is responsible for the safe, efficient and responsible use of technology throughout the agency. ITS provides solutions that support DODD business.

What will you do?

30% Responsible for safeguarding the State of Ohio, Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) assets against malicious activity, characterizing & monitoring activities to identify anomalous behavior & potential threats to IT resources, using Enterprise vulnerability management tools: Analyzes identified malicious activity to determine weaknesses exploited, exploitation methods & effects on system and information, as well as validation & accreditation processes necessary to assure that new IT systems meet DODD's and State information assurance & security requirements and/or support security audit activities and review security logs to validate access levels & activity; works in close coordination with Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Office of Information Security & Privacy/OISP staff to adopt new tools & will be the DODD point of contact for coordination of enterprise & inter-agency security related activities.

25% Provides technical maintenance & documentation support to information system users &/or IT specialists: creates & maintains scripting to automate application builds to support automated migration; assist development efforts through coordinating application builds & version management (e.g., enters meta-data into repositories, performs validation, executes unit or system test scripts, develops build scripts, defines standards & methods for build processes, provides maintenance support for application software, develops, organizes, files, & maintains platform specific documentation); accepts instructions & supports task assignments from other technology managers in coordination with Supervisor for software change management & application code maintenance; generates enhancements for existing infrastructure, software or database systems in compliance with specifications & standards (e.g., creates &/or modifies program modules, creates database diagrams, writes various forms of queries, writes test cases &/or scripts for unit & systems testing, verifies unit & system test results to ensure software is producing desired results); works with Quality Assurance team to develop & review acceptance criteria & create & run test scripts; conducts analysis of security access & enacts solutions or resolution actions for end user customer support & application processing; responds to user requests to troubleshoot & analyze software problems with systems analysts & project managers to improve software systems capabilities.

25% Interfaces with other platforms from a software perspective (e.g., change management platform): Diagnoses, analyzes, and resolves issues for customer(s) across assigned multiple technology domains; creates, organizes, files, and maintains ITS documentation; answers questions from staff and customers, offers technical solutions and assistance to meet business needs of customers; presents informal mentorship opportunities to peers via conversation, observation, or technical documentation; offers assistance with producing various reports for ITS staff and customers.

20% Grant access, maintain user accounts, troubleshoot problems, and upgrade software: Reviews and monitors enterprise security systems (e.g., network stability); takes appropriate action and responds to alarms/alerts per agency policy and procedure (e.g., anti-virus, spam); Provides input and suggestions to supervisor/management relative to scope of duties.

Qualifications

36 mos. exp. in computer data security either through monitoring system/network traffic for anomalous activity, systems development or controlling accessibility of data.

  • Or completion of associate core program in computer science; 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in computer data security either through monitoring system/network traffic for anomalous activity, systems development or controlling accessibility of data.

  • Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in computer data security either through monitoring system/network traffic for anomalous activity, systems development or controlling accessibility of data.
  • Or 12 mos. exp. as Information Technology Apprentice, 69910; successful completion of Ohio Cyber Apprenticeship program; additional 12 mos. trg. or exp. in Information Systems/Information Technology with a focus in one of the following areas: Software Engineering/Development, Data Analytics/Business Intelligence, Database Administration, Network, or IT Security.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Note: The Ohio Cyber Apprenticeship program is a program offered by the Department Administrative Services. 2000 hrs. of on-the-job experience and 200 certified instructional credits must be earned in order to complete this program.

  • Current Department of Developmental Disabilities OCSEA employees shall receive first consideration pursuant to Article 17 of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Hourly wage will be paid at step 1, unless otherwise specified by collective bargaining agreement or rules outlined in the ORC/OAC.
