Koenig Equipment is a family-owned dealership established in 1904. Our strong culture and commitment to growth has allowed us to expand to 15 locations across Indiana and Ohio. We look for employees who are eager to learn, take ownership of their work, have strong communication and collaborative skills, and an innovative mind. Koenig is currently searching for a qualified Service Manager to lead the Agricultural Equipment Service Department at the dealership's Urbana, OH location. 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop a working environment that drives Customer satisfaction
    • Promote Koenig Equipment in the community
    • Embrace and promote the Koenig Culture with Teammates
    • Be accountable to Teammates, lead with passion and enthusiasm, empower others
  • Communicate, enforce and monitor standards and processes that achieve fast response, ensure first-time quality and on-time delivery through continuous improvement and elimination of waste
    • Fully embrace and utilize systems, and related standards, including John Deere Dealer Path, CDK IntelliDealer, Lean Kit, and Koenig Connect, etc.
    • Engage in and ensure timely and open communication with Customers consistent with "work order to invoice" process
    • Coordinate efforts with the Service Writer to maintain an accurate Service schedule
    • Conduct a twice daily "walk around" to monitor progress, to identify bottlenecks, and to develop recovery plans
  • Champion the growth of the Service department
    • Proactively sell by executing and assisting in the development of service programs, campaigns, clinics, and events that "wow" our Customers, manufacturers and competitors
    • Identify, recruit, and evaluate technician applicants in a consistent and timely manner
  • Champion employee development
    • Engage dedicated Human Resources personnel to ensure sufficient technical knowledge/expertise of technicians in support of our products and services
    • Engage direct reports in meaningful dialogue about their aspirations and personal development through, at minimum, documented quarterly performance reviews
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of direct leadership experience in a dealership, or similar environment
  • Excellent Customer service, inter-personal, communication, and computer skills
  • A proven ability to empower and hold accountable Teammates
  • Basic knowledge of product line and mechanical systems being repaired
  • Ability to understand financial reporting principles relative to Service operations and profitability
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
