Preferred Availability:
Individuals must have availability between 2:30-5:30pm fall/winter/spring and between 10:00am-2:00pm during the summer.
Hours may range from 10-25/week
Qualifications
Lincoln Children’s Museum is seeking candidates that are energetic, self-motivated, dependable, and have a desire to work with children.
- High school graduate with some college study and/or post-high school work experience.
Education major/minors and/or previous experience working with children aged 5-12 is preferred.
Exhibit leadership, enthusiasm, maturity, compassion, responsibility, flexibility, and initiative.
Good communication skills are a must; staff works directly with children, parents, after school site coordinators, Director of Operations & Engagement, volunteers and interns.
Essential Functions
- Facilitate and instruct educational programs on a weekly basis.
- Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety.
- Adapt program activities to work with a variety of ages and learning styles.
- Be sensitive to the needs of student participants and attend to them promptly.
- Address parent/guardian concerns and respond to accidents quickly.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations & Engagement.
