SalaryWe are seeking a passionate and dedicated School Age Aftercare Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our aftercare program, you will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for school-age children. The Aftercare Teacher will implement age-appropriate activities, assist with homework, and foster positive social interactions, ensuring the well-being and development of each child in our care.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Safety:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of school-age children during aftercare hours.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
- Engaging Activities:
- Plan and execute a variety of age-appropriate, creative, and educational activities.
- Foster a love for learning through engaging projects, games, and crafts.
- Homework Assistance:
- Provide support and assistance to children with homework assignments.
- Foster a positive attitude towards academic challenges.
- Communication:
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing updates on daily activities and children's progress.
- Positive Environment:
- Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes social interaction and teamwork.
- Encourage positive behavior and conflict resolution skills.
- Snack and Meal Supervision:
- Oversee snack and mealtime, ensuring a healthy and safe dining environment.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and any notable observations.
- Professional Development:
- Stay informed about best practices in childcare and participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with school-age children in a childcare or educational setting.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and nurturing learning environment.
