After-school Reading/Writing Tutor (East Bay Area Only)

We are looking for part-time Reading/Writing instructors to facilitate classes for after-school programs in the East Bay. Apply to Talentnook today! Required Qualifications:

• Most important- Fun and engaging personality, ability to motivate elementary students and build trust
• Knowledge and experience in teaching Reading/Writing curriculum
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with students of all ages
• Ability to create engaging and interactive learning experiences
• Be able to clear background checks and TB test
• At least 1 year's experience working with elementary-aged children
• Effective classroom management skills (up to 20 students at a time)
• At least 1 year of college education
• Able to commute to school sites in the East Bay- have your transportation
• Ability to lift and carry ~20-50 lbs. on an occasional basis with or without accommodations.

Compensation:

• We pay $33 per hour. Any day that you teach, you receive 3 hours of pay. Compensation of 3 hours per class includes and covers weekly staff meetings, lesson planning and prep, communication with parents, prep/wait time at the school site, class instruction time, and following the dismissal procedures at the end of the class.
• Class duration can be between 60-75 minutes. You can teach up to 2-5 classes per week, 1 class per day Mon-Fri.

Availability:

• After-school hours between 1:30 PM-4:30 PM
• This part-time position will provide between 6-15 hours of work per week based on number of days worked.
