AEROSPACE MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN
LOCATION: Lafayette, IN, Approximately 10% travel is expected for this position, both nationally and internationally.
SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
CONTRACT: Perm
PAY RATE: $55k - $65k
DESCRIPTION:
As an Aerospace Field Services Technician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal performance and functionality of our aerospace maintenance tools and equipment. Your responsibilities will include testing, setup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and comprehensive documentation of results. You will be an integral part of our team, contributing to our mission of providing top-tier products and services to our global customer base.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Test products for functionality and quality, including tensile, strength, static, and dynamic testing.
• Troubleshoot issues with equipment, devices, or products.
• Assist in product assemblies.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Aid in equipment setup following current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
• Interpret technical drawings.
• Contribute to the design of load test fixtures and modifications.
• Create an internal department manual and/or checklist following Quality Department standards.
• Communicate with vendors for purchases as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of related experience or demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the tasks mentioned above.
• Fluent in English (proficiency in other languages is a plus). Ability to read and write in English, follow verbal instructions, and use basic math.
• Knowledge of a machine shop environment.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings is required.
• Knowledge of CNC, lathe machines, and milling machines is necessary.
• Capable of frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
