About the School of Aerospace Engineering

For more than two decades, the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering has consistently ranked among the nation's top 5 Aerospace Engineering programs, attracting aspiring engineers to pursue their academic journeys at the Atlanta campus.With an esteemed faculty of more than 40 tenured-track professors and a thriving student body of over 2,000 individuals, the school is uniquely positioned to offer a comprehensive and hands-on approach to research, scholarship, and education, spanning fixed-wing aircraft, rotorcraft, and space domains.

Job Summary

The School of Aerospace Engineering (ae.gatech.edu) at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for multiple tenure-track Faculty Positions. Applicants will be considered at all ranks and in any technical areas of relevance to aerospace systems, interpreted broadly. These areas include artificial intelligence and dynamical systems.

Typically reporting to the School Chair, the Professor is a tenured/tenure-track faculty member who performs a combination of teaching, research, and service. Professors may hold administrative appointments as long as the majority of their time is dedicated to teaching, research, and service. Professors hold a terminal degree and have normally spent three or more years at the rank of Associate Professor.

Responsibilities
  • It is an exceptionally dynamic period in the aerospace community with many opportunities for research discoveries and new technology development to shape the future of the field in aviation, space exploration, and vertical lift.
  • We seek exceptional applicants motivated to "Create the Next in Aerospace" by performing innovative research and creating inspiring learning environments at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Emphasis will be placed on the originality of the applicant's work, and its potential impact on the field.
  • Those applying for Associate and Full Professor positions should have established records in research that demonstrates nationally and internationally recognized expertise. Candidates are expected to teach and mentor a diverse student body. Along with undergraduate and graduate teaching, each position requires a balance of research and service responsibilities.
Required Qualifications

An earned Ph.D. or Sc.D. in Aerospace Engineering or closely related field is required by the start of the appointment.
