Job Description
As an Advisor - Sports Marketing, you will be responsible for building and curating the St. Jude presence in the sports universe by leveraging athletes and teams to expand the donor base and create clear brand points of differentiation. You will conceptually and implement innovative and inspirational athlete/team projects that bring the athlete/team and St. Jude brand personality to life through comprehensive outcomes, including earned media, social shares, and increased donations. You will also find new talent and ensure the best, humble, tenacious, and most giving athletes and teams are on the radar and poised to be part of the St. Jude ethos. You will create a marketing, communication, and performance plan for each engaged athlete and team based on the global Sports Marketing strategy.
Responsibilities
  • Bring the brand of St. Jude to life on a global, national, and local scale through sports teams and athletes; athlete projects, marketing initiatives, social media engagements and donor events (In Real Life (IRL) and Digital).
  • Build and curate the St. Jude presence in the sports universe by leveraging athletes as tools to expand the donor base and create clear brand points of differentiation. Conceptualize and implement innovative and inspirational athlete/team projects that bring the athlete/team and St. Jude brand personality to life through comprehensive outcomes, including earned media, social shares, and increased donations.
  • Set individual athlete goals and target outcomes aligned with the national Sports Marketing strategy. Identify and cultivate major gift prospects/partners, investing the necessary time and energy to build relationships designed to understand the donor/prospect goals with the expressed purpose of alignment with our sports program and brand mission.
  • Find new talent and ensure the best, humble, tenacious, and most giving athletes and teams are on the radar and poised to be part of the St. Jude ethos. Create a marketing, communication, and performance plan for each engaged athlete and team based on the global Sports Marketing strategy.
  • Work collaboratively across the organization to build impactful and inspirational storytelling and activations. Provide stakeholders a Sports Marketing toolkit that includes digital, film and still assets.
  • Leverage athlete's portfolio to develop and lead fundraising activities and initiatives, including high wealth and high earner donor cultivation, annual giving, foundation grants, planned giving, and special events through the lens of sports. Work closely with athlete's and/or teams current sponsor portfolio to drive brand integration opportunities and custom branded solutions with a special focus on design/visibility and execution.
  • Negotiate athlete and team agreements and contracts - including performance expectations and goals, personal foundation integration, branding rights, availability, schedule, and usage rights.

Qualifications
  • Background in planning, organizational, and project management competencies.
  • In-depth knowledge of sports management and sports industry with experience and/or deep affinity for PGA, LPGA, NBA, NFL, F1, NASCAR, MLS.
  • Can demonstrate - openness to new scenes, ideas, processes, innovation, and possibilities.
  • Priority Consideration given to candidates based in key markets (Los Angeles, NY, Chicago, Atlanta, and Miami).
  • 30-40% travel required and may include nights and weekends.
  • Speak and write in a clear and understandable manner for internal/external relations
  • Understand complex verbal or written instructions.
  • Demonstrates clear communication and the ability to influence others.
  • Knowledge ordinarily acquired through a bachelor's degree or more than 5 years of experience.

New York, NY Pay Range: 90k - 115k
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
