Job Description

The Ad Operations & Programmatic Lead is a crucial member of Flipboard's Revenue Team and will be a major contributor to the success of Flipboard. You will support the full Flipboard Sales team (NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles) and partner cross-functionally with internal Client Solutions, Engineering, Product, and Design teams. Join a team of highly motivated and talented individuals working with top brands, media organizations, and vendors worldwide.


Responsibilities
  • Act as a player/coach supporting the ad trafficking process, ad creative development, and newsletter operations, and manage the Ad Operations team.
  • QA, traffic, launch, and monitor direct-sold and programmatic digital media campaigns.
  • Work with the Client Solutions team to approve media plans, monitor and analyze campaign delivery. Make optimization recommendations where necessary.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot ad serving errors, third-party reporting discrepancies, and campaign delivery issues; provide feedback to Client Solutions, clients, or vendors when necessary.
  • Manage the end-of-month billing reconciliation with Sales and Finance.
  • Negotiate vendor contracts and manage vendor relationships including keeping our internal systems up to date.
  • Work with the Product team and ad product engineers to assist in maintaining and advancing Flipboard advertising products. Maintain documentation shared with advertising and publishing partners as the Flipboard ad product evolves.
  • Manage the Programmatic team and business driving to revenue goals with the Sales team including managing Flipboard's programmatic ad stack, managing pricing & floors, blocking bad ads, troubleshooting issues, monitoring fill rate & revenue, managing programmatic partners including adding/removing new/old partners and working with the Sales team to sell Flipboard as a programmatic partner.
  • Provide support as needed on Pricing & Yield including managing the programmatic & direct rate card, monitoring trends, and analyzing drivers of performance.

Required Experience
  • 5-8+ years experience in digital Advertising Operations and programmatic with a strong technical mind and understanding of digital media; publisher-side preferred, in-app experience a plus.
  • Experience trafficking and managing campaigns in Google Ad Manager.
  • Experience working in an Order Management System (Boostr).
  • Basic knowledge of ad formats including VAST, VPAID, MRAID.
  • Understanding of the ad tech / programmatic landscapes and experience working with DSPs, ad exchanges plus pre-existing DSP & ATD relationships.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with many teams (Sales, Client Solutions, Engineering).
  • Strong analytical skills and intimate knowledge of Google Docs/Sheets/etc.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills to handle multiple projects and activities simultaneously.

Compensation & Location
  • Annual Base Salary Range: US$83,000 - $115,000
  • This is a fully remote, WFH role
  • Priority given to those based in NY
