Advertising Account Executive

The Aviation Agency is a full-service marketing and advertising agency that services clients in the aviation, aerospace, and avionics markets. We are a growing agency with talent residing across the United States (although we have offices in Bloomington, MN). This job could be virtual for the right individual.

All of us have at least 10 years of experience in our fields and have worked for large agencies in our careers. To be considered for this position, you must have previously worked in an advertising agency (full-service or digital) within the past five years and have at least three years of experience working in an advertising agency. People with experience in other fields - we're sure that's all great - but we're not interested. No ad agency experience - no consideration.

You'll need to make sure the trains run on time, tasks are properly coordinated, and keep clients happy. That means making sure they feel heard and respected. The primary focus is on developing the relationships with our clients, making sure that our work standard is maintained, and that projects are delivered on time and within our budgets.

You'll work closely with the President of our agency and our account coordinator. Your role, as the AE, is to be the grease between the cogs of the agency and the client.

If you're headquartered in Minneapolis - great. We have an office in Bloomington and we are very interested in local talent. If you're competent and live somewhere else in the US - that's awesome too. We have employees on the East Coast, West Coast, and Midwest. We're used to working as a matrix team of people while still maintaining a cohesive company feel. We're open to a WFH situation (we did it way before it was cool) and we have considerable technology to work together.

I'm not going to list out the bullets and whatnot for the job - because if you don't know what account executives do, then quite frankly, we don't have time to figure it out with or for you. That said, we'll look for your experience on your resume and we'll expect you have at least five years.

The thing I'm going to look for is - do you have the temperament and the experience to handle clients in an environment like advertising. Do you know how to read people, keep them calm, and solve problems in a way that makes clients feel like they have no problems? Are you personable and can you handle yourself well in ambiguous situations?

Pay is competitive, you probably will work from home, the clients are only mildly crazy (compared to other industries), and we're a highly competent staff of creatives and agency executives who get along very well. Most of us have been working together for over a decade (what does that tell you about our corporate environment?)

Because of the nature of our matrixed team - providing benefits is always tricky. That said, we are open to talking about things like health care reimbursement accounts and things of that nature so that you can get benefits in your state if you're working remotely. If you're in Minnesota - it's considerably easier for us. We have a QSERAH plan at the moment and will be offering more benefits.
