Job description

Innovative Reasoning, LLC is recruiting for a Subject Matter Expert in Advanced Reconnaissance.
Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Assist the lead military instructor with planning, coordination, and development of course material and exercise design.
  • Liaison with MEF Information Group (MIG) personnel to unify efforts associated with MEF level objectives.
  • Ensure the course is nested and aligned with MEF level objectives.
  • Conduct briefings as required to key leaders, up to MEF Commander to ensure course focus is consistent with current demand.
  • Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of scenario-based training objectives within MEU PTP.
  • Serve as instructor/evaluator during pre-deployment certification exercises and at-sea periods.
  • Deliver lectures and hands-on training for military students in the classroom and field.
  • Provide instruction across the following courses and training:
    • Close Quarters Tactics Course (CQTC),
    • Close Quarters Tactics Enabler (CQT-E),
    • Advanced Reconnaissance Course (ARC),
    • Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure Course (VBSS),
    • Recon Interoperability Course
  • Develop and provide instruction and training in support of operations, focused on:
    • OperationalPreparation of the Environment (OPE) activities,
    • advanced R&S, Technical Surveillance,
    • Titles and Authorities,
    • Embassy Roles & Responsibilities,
    • Threat Assessment,
    • International Travel/customs,
    • Ubiquitous Technical Surveillance,
    • and RSO&I.
  • Provide SME and support for the following MEU exercises:
    • MEU Exercise 1 / Realistic Urban Training,
    • MEU Exercise 2 / Amphibious MEU Interoperability Training (PMINT),
    • MEU Exercise 3,
    • Amphibious Ready Group / MEU Exercise (ARGMEUEX),
    • Composite Unit Training Exercise (COMPTUEX)

Supplemental Duties:
  • Develop training environment that supports enabler integration and provides advanced training opportunities for Multi-Discipline Intelligence personnel.
  • Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of training courses and generating After Action Reports (AARs).
  • Able to serve in a Range Safety Officer (RSO) position and obtain all requisite RSO certification credentials.
  • From time to time serve as a Range Safety Officer conduct of live fire training or exercises.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None

Education/Qualifications and Certifications:
REQUIRED:
  • Trained and qualified in technical surveillance and cyber collection operations by a U.S. Department of Defense school.
  • Possesses completion certifications in:
    • networking and technical surveillance (I.E., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, JNCIA-Junos, SolarWind, or equivalent).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of common commercial computer applications (Outlook, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.) and peripheral equipment to produce a variety of documents, charts, graphs and briefing materials and devices/equipment (tablets, smartphones, etc.) to present and execute training.

PREFERRED:
  • EMERALD NOMAD qualification with management level experience, or SMU equivalent.

Experience:
  • Honorably discharged (DD-214 with the characterization of service and MOS, verification required), prior Staff Non-Commissioned (SNCO) or above in the U.S. Armed Forces.
  • No more than (5) years removed from active duty or contract assignment teaching or applying Advanced Reconnaissance and surveillance techniques in permissive, semi-permissive, and non-permissive environments.
  • Two (2) Operational deployments minimum.
  • Must have served within an Advanced Force Operations Troop, or relevant equivalent.
  • Minimum of (16) years of Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience or equivalent.
  • Six (6) years of experience conducting reconnaissance and surveillance operations in permissive and semi-permissive environments.
  • Have Three (3) years or more in tactical level operations conducting analysis and planning.
  • Management / Battalion level experience with enabler integration and Operations/Intelligence fusion.
  • Knowledge and experience in scouting and patrolling.
  • Three (3) years' experience as an instructor at a USMC formal school, SOTG/EOTG, or a Joint Service, Interagency, or Civilian equivalent.
  • Expert Knowledge of how to operate military weapons to include standard small arms (E.G., M16, M4, HK416, M18).
  • User-type knowledge of gateway communications services for classified networks using commercial off the shelf products that meets National Security Agency requirements.

Location: Position is at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Stone Bay, NC.
Work Environment:
  • The contractor will work in a mixed civilian/military environment providing training to deploying units.
  • Work conditions can vary from a busy office environment to fieldwork, both subject to frequent interruptions. Additional specific details related to working conditions may be outlined in the Performance Work Statement or Client Contract.
  • May occasionally be required to work non-routine office hours, travel to other locations, or work extended hours in support of training events or exercise.

Physical Demands:
  • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. Requires constant use of hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Additional specific details related to physical requirements may be outlined in the Performance Work Statement or Client Contract.
  • Be physically capable of performing all tasks specified in the Performance Work Statement or perspective area of expertise or prescribed in the EOTG Period of Instruction.

Work Schedule: Full time.
License and Other Requirements:
  • Hold a valid US Driver's License, with ability to operate private, commercial and Government owned motor vehicles (POV/GOV).
  • Possess a current Basic First Aid and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Must be able to obtain a contractor's common access card, which will stand as identification for instructors and will enable them to access government owned computer equipment and Non-secure Internet Protocol (NIPR).

Security Clearance: Currently possess an active U.S. Top Secret / SCI level security clearance and can obtain a Secure Internet Protocol (SIPR) access token with access to government SIPR computers terminals.
Travel: Approx. 6 weeks (cumulative) per year for non-consecutive periods of 1-week, or less; off base training in CONUS locations; conduct periodic off base site surveys; attend various sustainment training when available.
