We are looking for a motivated physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join the teams at Louisville Dermatology – Middletown in Louisville, KY and The Dermatology Center in New Albany, IN, both VitalSkin affiliates. This position will practice 32 hours per week (four days) – one day in Louisville and three days in New Albany. The ideal candidate is a professional, dependable, adaptable and humble team player who is eager to learn under direct physician supervision.
You’ll assist with providing general dermatology services for a growing patient base. You’ll join state-of-the-art practices with Modernizing Medicine – a top ranked, specialty-specific EHR and engagement tool. This position will complement the schedule of the overseeing provider. The scope of practice for this position includes only general dermatology.

Specific Responsibilities
Perform a variety of general dermatology procedures under physician supervision.
Communicate changes in patient conditions to physician.
Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with patients, families and other healthcare personnel, while assuring confidentiality of patient information.
Demonstrate proficiency and graduated autonomy within scope of general dermatology practice over the course of several months.
Record patient’s health history in electronic medical record system.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree from accredited PA program. Or if an NP, be a registered nurse (RN), hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), have completed an NP-focused graduate master’s or doctoral nursing program and have successfully passed a national NP board certification exam.
Previous experience working and providing care in a dermatology clinic.
PA/NP licensure in the state where employed.
Must have prescriptive authorization.
Must be proficient with medical instruments and equipment required by the work.
Communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, with medical partners at various levels, patients, family members, physicians and representatives of the community.
Sound understanding of all federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.
Be positive, open and flexible to learning new skills for various procedures.
Maintain license through ongoing continuing medical education credits as required.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting/standing and working at a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15lbs at times.
