Position Summary:
Partner with development, product management, architecture, information security and infrastructure teams to deliver data and technology products that meet requirements and produce desired business outcomes. Adhere to established architectural principles and associated processes for adopting new technology or integrating with a new third-party solution. Advise product management on data and technology specific aspects of product roadmap development and recommend adoption of emerging technology appropriate to stated goals. Essential Job Functions:
- Develop the overall software & deployment architecture of data application solutions across teams within a single domain
- Partner with engineering staff to deliver solutions
- Partner with 3rd party vendors to integrate capabilities as required by the solution under development
- Partner with Senior Solutions Architects during large, cross-functional project discovery to develop high level architecture and design
- Lead architectural design reviews as required
- Draft, review and maintain architectural diagrams, interface specifications and other architectural artifacts as required by the delivery teams to clearly communicate the needs of the solution under development
- Interact with/present to engineering and product management with the presence to influence and drive the decision makers to a solution
- Identify technology overlaps and gaps and inform Senior Solutions Architecture staff
- Assess emerging technologies and make appropriate recommendations based on business needs
- Mentor engineering team members in software development and architectural principles, patterns, processes, and practices
- Promote the capture and reuse of intellectual capital, including code objects and components
- Contribute to Solutions Architecture Community of Practice

- Articulate and/or translate business problem statements to data requirements to proactively work on design and analysis prior to system design for timely delivery
- Collaborate with Business, UX/UI, Services and Architecture teams, including others to design data models for SQL and NoSQL databases that meet functional and performance requirements while ensuring flexibility, scalability and ease of implementation
- Recommend and present analysis on platforms of choice for application database, event data stores, data warehouses, reporting, archival, etc., as required
- Develop data migration strategies for moving, duplicating, retiring data from legacy systems to new applications
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Experience developing and/or architecting backend services with Azure
- 10+ years of experience in software or data development domain with emphasis on utilizing design patterns and architectural principles to ensure the timely delivery of quality Data Solutions
- 5+ years of experience taking a lead role in the successful delivery of complex Data Solutions
- Proven knowledge of service-oriented architecture and cloud architecture and tools
- Demonstrated capability to build, mentor and maintain an inclusive team-based environment
- Proven delivery of innovative results in previous roles and strong knowledge of industry trends and industry competition
- 5 or more years' experience with requirements and system analysis, system design, data modeling and data architecture.
- Proficient in using and designing with ERwin Data Modeler for SQL Server, Cassandra, Kafka, MS Azure Databases and Data Stores, or other similar technologies.
- Well-versed with the concepts and application of entity definition, idempotency, normalization/de-normalization of relational models, naming convention, data types, dimensional modeling and modeling for key-value based databases.
- Demonstrates solid understanding of architectural components and system design principles for effective contribution to all design discussions.
Desired Previous Experience/Education:
- Master's Degree in computer science, information systems, or related technical field
- 3+ years of experience in designing cloud Data Solutions
