Position: Advanced CNC OperatorLevel: Machine Operator 3
Summary: The Advanced CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) Operator is responsible for running CNC shop equipment from setup to operation and for producing machined parts using CNC equipment. As such, the Advanced CNC Operator is responsible for ensuring CNC equipment adheres to quality and safety standards. This involves operating the various machines perforating the material. The Advanced CNC Operator must have basic knowledge of machine operation, program interpretation, and preventative maintenance for equipment.

Typical Week:_ Minimum 40 hours, seasonally increases up to 80 hours a week with many weeks averaging 45-50 hoursKey Responsibilities:_
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Advanced operation on multiple machines including punch press, laser, waterjet, lathe, mill, brake press and plasma machines
- Ability to program all equipment at the machine and most of f -line
- Interpret work orders and basic drawings
- Perform basic machine and tooling troubleshooting
- Set up and tool machines (including grinding, shimming, measuring)
- Provide expertise on relevant materials and thicknesses
- Maintain equipment (i.e., start up, shut down, preventive)
- Maintain machine and work area cleanliness
- Perform parts testing and calibration
- Ensure proper management of all scrap
- Properly track job task through the shop using the job traveler system
- Arrive at work on-time and consistently clock in and out
- Uphold leadership values of integrity, excellence, innovation and collaboration; displaying respect and a positive attitude in all interactions with the team
Qualifications:
- Level-specif ic on the job training or technical school/college education
- One year as Beginning CNC Operator or equivalent experience
- Strong math and mechanical skills required
- Computer literate
- Attention to detail to identify maintenance, product, or operations issues
- Ef fective communication skills, including active listening and taking instruction
- Ability to stand and be in other physically demanding positions for long periods of time
