Summary

The EMI/EMC Certification Engineer is responsible for ensuring the compliance of our Control, Safety, and Wireless products to all applicable EMI/EMC standards.  As a senior member of the certification team the candidate will perform EMI/EMC testing, provide design support, analysis, and testing for a wide variety products and technologies within Honeywell Process Solutions business.

Responsibilities

Certification Engineer responsibilities include:

        Perform Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Radio Frequency (RF) testing including internal pre-qualification and provide direction to external test labs

        Drive design for product compliance with EMC standard IEC 61326-1 and associated standards including but not limited to CISPR 11 and IEC 61000-4-x.

        Align and coordinate global approval engineering activities worldwide

        Ensure product compliance to LVD, Wireless standards (i.e., FCC Part 15) and/or various global wireless regulations such as RED Directive and IC.

        Translate new product and customer requirements to test requirements

        Preparation of all EMC Test Plan/Procedure/Report

        Guide other functional departments to comply with all approval agency requirements.

        Participate in the Change Control Board and assess any consequences of product changes.

        Provide support to Sales offices to obtain local or customer requested approvals.

        Participate in external agency and regulatory audits.

        Maintain existing certifications

-       Monitor changes in external regulations that require changes to our certifications.

-       Maintain product certifications over the lifetime of the product.

-       Maintain a good working relationship with the regulatory and approval bodies.

        Play a vital role in multidisciplinary New Product Development activity

-       Interface between the design team and the approval body, assuring compliance in the specification phase and that all approvals related requirements are met.

        Understand how to read circuit schematics

        Knowledge of Industrial and Marine levels of EMI/EMC

        Knowledge of EMI/EMC standards including CE, KCC, RMC

Maintaining Declarations of Conformity for the business

Must Have:

        Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science

        5+ years of EMI/EMC Compliance work experience

        2+ years of experience with electrical circuit analysis or basic circuit theory

        5+ years of experience testing for radiated and conducted emissions, radiated and conducted immunity

        5+ years of experience with failure analysis and troubleshooting of equipment under test
