JOB TITLE: Family Medicine Provider with clinical HIV experience
JOB TYPE: Full-Time

RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Hidden Garden and Chief of Internal Medicine
EDUCATION: NP, M.D. or MSN required; MPH preferred


Summary/Objective:
Park West Health Systems, a network of Federally Qualified Community Health Centers in northwest Baltimore City, seeks an HIV Specialist (experienced NP or MD) to serve as the new clinical & administrative lead for its HIV Services. Park West has deep roots in the community it serves, including a robust multi-disciplinary HIV program with outreach workers, case managers, addiction services, and prison re-entry coordinator. Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner encouraged to apply.


Essential Functions:
In addition to providing clinical care as a primary care provider, the Clinical Lead for HIV Care Services would be responsible for the following accountabilities:
- Development of policies and procedures related to HIV standards of care & implementing these services across our 3 locations
- Collaborating with HIV support staff to ensure ongoing effectiveness of services
- Working with the Medical/Data Coordinator on outcomes and quality initiatives
- Representing Park West on relevant extramural initiatives, e.g. committees of the Greater Baltimore HIV Health Services Planning Council.


Minimum Requirements:
The ideal candidate would be an individual with the following qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience providing clinical care to people living with HIV (NP with AAHIVM certification, MD with AAHIVM certification or ID fellowship training)
- Experience providing culturally competent substance use disorder care including medication-assisted therapy (ie buprenorphine)
- Success in working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment and meaningful relationships with patients and colleagues.
- Enjoys interprofessional collaboration and providing patient centered, team-based care.


Job Description:
- Responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation and evaluation of a variety of PWHS projects related to adult HIV prevention, care and treatment.
- Serves as the technical link with/liaison to the Baltimore City Health Department and other collaborating local organizations to generate work plans and corresponding budgets, training programs, evaluation plans, and content for meetings, workshops and conferences.
- Participates, as appropriate, as PWHS’s technical lead in monthly and quarterly project planning and evaluation meetings with staff from the Baltimore City Health Department and local partners.
- Collaborates with the mid-Atlantic AIDS Education and Training center (MAAETC)
- Assists in the generation and presentation of performance improvement project reports, publications and presentations.
- Provides content expertise to the work of PWHS on HIV prevention including use of antiretroviral drugs for prevention (PrEP, PEP, TasP), adult HIV care and treatment, and other related conditions such as viral hepatitis. This includes participation in the development or refinement of materials including technical guidance, clinical guidelines, standard operating procedures and other clinical tools.
- Provides technical support to select PWHS programs in the design and implementation of HIV prevention, care and treatment programs for adults, including review of progress and challenges, assistance in development of training materials and other tools, and provision of clinical mentorship.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
