Form of workESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1.Escorting patients to exam room and assists in determining medical problems.
2.Takes vital signs (blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, pulse, respiration, and asks about the patients' level of pain).
3. Properly documenting results in medical record.
4.Assists patients in patient flow through the health center.
5.Prepares exam rooms and instruments for examination and testing.
6. Stock supplies in exam rooms.
7.Sterilizes instruments.
8.Checks appointment schedule and assists receptionist with provider patient schedules. May have to cover for receptionists during the lunch period or in their absence.
9.Label and maintains proper storage for specimens and tests. Delivers tests and obtains results.
10.Completes laboratory requisitions.
11.Ensures that lab reports, x-rays and other information are in patients records prior to their visit.
12.Assists providers and nurses with procedures and treatments as directed.
13. Issues outpatient material. Assists in application and patient instruction.
14.Schedules patients for testing procedures.
15. If applicable, translates for provider in the language of the patient.
16. Maintain strictest confidentiality.
17.Attends required meetings, and in-services, and participates in committees/team as requested.
18. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate manager or practice administrator.
