The Adult Day Program Coordinator will provide assistance with participants activities of daily living including but not limited to, toileting assistance, feeding assistance, showering/dressing, one person transfers, and general hygiene. As well as:
Assists in programming a weekly activity calendar that includes opportunities for participation in a variety of activities.
Assist in implementing and carrying out a variety of activities that include baking, arts and crafts, gardening, mentally oriented discussion, sensory activities and more.
Assist Healthcare Coordinator in monitoring participant vitals and other healthcare needs
Communicate with Healthcare Coordinator and Program Director regarding any changes in participant functions and ability level
Attend professional conferences and continuing education programs. Completes all in-service training and assignments as offered in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with participants, families and staff.
High school graduate degree preferred and current nurses aide certification or a minimum of one year of related experience in caring for frail/impaired adults.
Must possess an understanding of the social, psychological and recreational needs of the aging population, and the patience and ability to work under pressure.
Genuine interest in working with older adults.
Must have outgoing personality with leadership skills and ability to hold attention of a group.
Must be willing to work on small team of employees.
Evidence of a negative TB skin test within the past 12 months
Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
Adult Day medical statement from physician required upon hire.
