Salaryhe Aroostook Agency on Aging has an immediate opening for a part time (20 hr/week) Adult Day Services Aide for their Presque Isle Adult Day Center. The successful applicant will possess a positive, caring and nurturing disposition with the desire to help those with dementia or other cognitive issues. The Adult Day Service Aide will assist the Adult Day Services team in the day-to-day responsibilities, demonstrating a safe, secure, and positive experience for participants.
Specific Duties to include:
Assist with daily tasks: Opening and close down duties of facility. Start up machines/kitchen/garbage/clean up, assisting consumers with early morning snack, lunch and an afternoon snack adhering to any special diets with guidance from the Adult Day Services Direct Attendant each day.
Greeting clients and family/caregivers upon their arrival and providing a welcoming atmosphere. Assisting clients with personal items such as coats/boots/shoes/food/snacks they may bring.
Engaging clients in daily programmed activities and socialization as planned by the Adult Day Direct Attendant and directly support each client with their participation.
Assists with assuring all client’s information is under lock and key and remains confidential and secure.
Assist by following weekly schedule of activities and help in any and all functions of those events planned. (Music, reading, games etc)
Attend any meetings/huddles/trainings that Manager requests.
If you have a desire to help others and have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with older adults with disabilities and/or cognitive impairment, have great time management and organizational skills, work well within a team and have excellent interpersonal skills, then this is the position for you!!!
