The Position: We are looking for an Adoptions Coordinator, who is willing to embrace McKinley's mission and H.U.M.A.N values. The Adoptions Coordinator is responsible for facilitating permanency for children through ongoing assessment of prospective/current resource families.
Compensation and Benefits:
The pay range we're offering is $64,480-$71,000 annually depending (Based) on experience.

Qualifications:
  • MSW Required, LCSW Preferred
  • Must have experience in adoption or related field of at least two years
  • Experience coordinating and managing
  • Word processing; General office skills
  • Excellent reading and writing skills
  • Must pass pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening
  • Ability to commute to various sites
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds for filing
  • DOJ, FBI, Child Abuse Index
  • Insurability under corporate automobile insurance

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervision of Interns in Training, Coordination of Placements with Colleges/Universities
  • Recruitment and training of prospective adoptive families.
  • Accept/Review applications for adoption by individuals and families seeking to adopt.
  • Oversee the scheduling of home inspections and SAFE home studies for prospective/current resource families.
  • Monitor, complete and/or review & approve SAFE home studies (Family Evaluation/Written Reports) for families based upon state and agency regulations.
  • Coordinate matches of resource families with potential adoptive children in coordination with local child welfare services through participation in matching events, informal/formal case presentations and adoptive placement signings.
  • Manage and maintain a regional adoptions caseload for all children in adoptive placement through monthly home visits. May potentially carry fost-adopt cases where a permanency plan is for adoption.
  • Responsible for communicating with all prospective adoptive families and maintaining contact throughout the process of adoption to provide ongoing support, counseling, consultation, information, and referrals as needed.
  • Provide support and intervention assistance to Social Workers, Foster and Adoptive parents.
  • Collaborate with Social Workers to effectively manage the flow of information and documentation to monitor the progress of pre-adoption/adoption cases.
  • Maintain awareness of State Licensing and changes to assure that program policy and practice reflect compliance.
  • Educate and train the community and prospective fost-adopt families about Adoption support services and adoption related issues.
  • Develop and facilitate a support group for Resource Families interested in adopting and for Adoptive Families
  • Maintain positive relationships with county liaisons and track program outcomes, including contracts with outside agencies.
  • Participate with children and staff in special events and celebrations (finalization hearings, etc.) as needed.
  • Believe that people can change; demonstrate an ability to set limits and intervene appropriately to meet the needs of the children and families served.
  • Participate in all meetings as directed.
  • Actively participate in the agency's Program Quality Improvement (PQI) process as assigned.
  • Work with FFA in treatment and permanency planning
  • Other duties as assigned.
