Position: Adolescent Fatality Prevention Coordinator
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46204 (Remote)
Duration: Long term contract
Job Description:
- Connect recommendations and prevention strategies from state and local child fatality review teams relating to schools.
- Provide technical assistance to local school districts and health departments working to implement or amend bullying protocols.
- Develop evidence-based trauma-informed research strategies while utilizing available state and local data to identify target counties.
- Develop evaluation protocols for prevention initiatives.
- Create education and awareness materials, including brochures and other visual materials.
- Facilitate prevention meetings in local communities throughout the state.
- Request state and local data from IDOH epidemiologists
- Report local prevention initiatives to the Statewide Child Fatality Review Committee
- Collaborate with existing community action and prevention teams to address current school policies.
- Provide trainings on developing recommendations and turning data into action to local fatality review teams.
- Create awareness around bereavement services for local communities.
- Public speaking on prevention strategies and initiatives
- Create tools for community outreach and empowerment.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, education, social work, or related field
- Working experience w/meeting facilitation, giving presentations to professional audiences.
- Knowledge of Indiana's public health system and fatality review processes
- Prior experience developing educational materials.
- Demonstrated experience with managing multiple ongoing projects while successfully completing work assignments.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Publisher, or Access
- Prior experience as a program coordinator.
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
