What Does an Admitting Clerk Do? As an Admitting Clerk, you will promptly and courteously greet our patients, in person and over the phone, as the first point of contact our patients experience when contacting our facility. Your primary role is the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients, the registration of outpatients, and ensuring accurate patient information is collected. Also, you ensure that all incoming telephone calls are promptly and courteously answered and routed to the correct extension within the facility. Your delivery of service adheres to Samaritan Healthcare's Mission, Vision, and Values
Which Qualifications Do You Need?
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous admitting experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Ability to operate a multi-line phone system.
- Ability to perform data entry using EPIC or experience in database navigation preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- The completion of Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level within three (3) months of hire.

This is an On Call position, with availability for all days and shifts.
