The Admissions Specialist is responsible for working in a database of teachers and evaluating data to recommend improvements; evaluating teachers’ education and experience to determine eligibility for program admission; handling inquiries for applicant support; and, coordinating with the Admissions Team Manager to develop, implement, and follow program models, policies, and methods.
The position will involve full-time work throughout the year, with the busy season lasting from May through August each year, as teachers must be placed and processed for their teaching positions in the spring and summer to be able to begin the academic year. The Admissions Specialist must work closely with EPI team members to ensure that program needs are met, and EPI will provide training in the unique areas central to the J-1 program.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducting 30 to 45 minute screening interviews with teachers from around the world.
- Assessing interviews and making recommendations for placement.
- Emailing/calling candidates to follow up on missing application documentation.
- Reaching out to teachers to fully explain to them on the benefits of joining the EPI program.
- Working on a computer all day
- Meeting departmental goals
Qualifications:
- An Associate’s Degree
- Communication skills required to work with international teacher candidates
- The ability to collect data, define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Motivation to be proactive in helping others
- An appreciation for diversity and cultural interaction
- A dedication to working with a team to complete objectives
- The ability to travel in the summers to EPI Orientation Events
- The ability to travel incidentally to regional school districts
- Three or more years of teaching experience (but not required)
- Advanced computer skills
- The ability to speak Spanish, Tagalog, or another world language (but not required)
- Drivers License is required
- Willingness to travel (10%)
- Communicating over different mediums
- Working on a team to accomplish goals
- 2-3 years in a Sales role with a proven track record of success (preferred but not required)
- The people skills required to make multiple calls and speak with international teacher candidates
- The understanding of team strategies and objectives
- The motivation to learn and constantly improve processes and tools
- Advanced computer skills
- The ability to speak Spanish (preferred but not required)
