Meritus Health and the proposed Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine (MSOM) in Hagerstown, Maryland is seeking a highly motivated individual to become our Admissions Recruiter.

Meritus Health is officially seeking accreditation and licensure to open a proposed four-year osteopathic medical school in Hagerstown.

 The Admissions Recruiter role:

  • Develops and implements a robust lead/inquiry source flow with inquiry conversion to enrollment and matriculation with guidance from the Director of Academic Admissions.
  • Responds to a large volume of inquiries from prospective students and provides advising to students and families on admissions requirements, policies and procedures, and related issues. Meets regularly with prospective students and families. Supports marketing and communication efforts to increase admissions yield. Collaborates to develop recruitment marketing plan including CRM messaging, social media, and other platforms. Develops and implements student programming and events to support recruitment efforts including on-site and virtual events (e.g., open houses, webinars, workshops, tours, summer programs) for prospective students (e.g., K-12, college, non-traditional), families, and pre-health academic advisors. Conducts large group presentations. Represents MSOM at recruitment events across the country. Travel required during peak recruitment seasons approximately 30% including nights and weekends. Builds relationships with colleges, pre-health advisors, faculty, and organizations to provide education on MSOM, osteopathic medicine, and the admissions process. Supports the development and implementation of a pathways program with regional colleges. Develops diversity recruitment efforts to attract and enroll a diverse study body, collaborating with key stakeholders to develop targeted outreach strategies and initiatives. Supports coordinating interview schedules for applicants and interviewers.
  • Manages data collection and entry, analysis, and database maintenance for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform.
  • Prepares reports, provides analyses, and assists with program evaluations. Maintain a thorough understanding of the Admissions application processes and software.
  • Supports the admissions committee and admissions review processes as needed with file reviews, communication with students, and other tasks.

Complete routine reports (e.g., recruitment efforts, travel, projections, conversions).  Provides support to the student recruitment advisory committee. Assists in maintaining department accounts and ensuring budget compliance.

 

Qualified applicants should have:

Education – Bachelor’s degree in Business, Higher Education, Marketing, or other relevant major

Experience – Higher education admissions and/or recruitment experience needed.  Minimum of 3 years of experience in recruitment, admissions, or experience directly related to essential responsibilities.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (i.e., written and public speaking) and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community while providing strong customer service. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, gather data, compile and prepare reports, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, possess strong organizational and project management skills, skilled in the use of software systems and databases, and knowledge of university recruitment, admission policies, standards, and procedures. Must show creativity and enthusiasm for an educational environment. Must have the ability to lift 25 pounds. Driver’s license required.
