Summary

The Admissions Recruiter assists prospective medical school applicants through the admissions process in an efficient, professional, and supportive manner using the best practices in recruiting and compliance. This position will provide accurate information regarding admission to Burrell’s medical program while traveling to recruitment events and on campus. The Admissions Recruiter must possess positive, high energy, exceptional communication skills, creativity, and enthusiasm for an educational environment. 

  • This position is exempt.
  • This position reports to the Associate Director of Admissions.

Job Description:

  • Assists the Admissions department in coordinating, planning, participating in, and promoting special admission on-campus events including tours, applicant information sessions, and applicant retention activities.
  • Represents Burrell at off-site locations such as colleges, conferences, and any other travel-related initiatives.
  • Compiles comprehensive travel reports/statistics/admissions data
  • Assists with large group and school tours and presentations both in person and virtually
  • Assists in developing, organizing, and facilitating Admissions presentations to prospective students and visitors.
  • Articulates the Burrell mission to a variety of publics- acting as a liaison between Burrell and college counselors and advisors, students, parents, corporations, and/or government representatives
  • Serves as a member of the Admissions team and manages a recruitment territory and/or population; contacts, visits, and informs prospective medical school applicants and health profession advisors about admission to Burrell.  
  • Assist the Associate Director of Admissions with all recruitment and retention events.
  • Completes routine reports related to recruitment, projections, conversions, personal schedule, travel, special programs, and/or expense reports.
  • Maintains current knowledge of Burrell’s academic, social, extra-curricular, residential options and financial aid programs, and communicates this information to prospective students. 
  • Maintains a high volume of communication via email, traditional mail, social media, and phone calls with prospective applicants of the college to establish a productive rapport between the applicant and Burrell.
  • Maintains up-to-date travel records of all invited and attended recruitment events; provides reports as requested by the Associate Director of Admissions.
  • Attends and participates in admissions staff meetings
  • Exercises creativity in assisting in designing promotional/marketing materials used in the recruitment of desired applicant populations.
  • Maintains current knowledge of multiple CRM-based recruitment databases, and monitors student matriculation.
  • During peak travel seasons work on periodic weekends, evenings, and travels locally and out-of-state.
  • Will be cross-trained in application review and advising appointments. Assist with application review in times of high volume.
  • Will be cross-trained in enrollment processes for other student populations and cover appointments as needed.
  • Encourages a healthy and productive relationship between Admissions and other Burrell offices.
  • This job description shall include, but is not limited to the above duties.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and able to provide a clear driving record (pass a background check, for example, no DUI/DWI, no outstanding warrants).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience/ability giving tours.

Preferences:

  • Experience with AMP or similar Admissions management systems.
  • Experience working with students in an admissions-related environment.
  • Experience/ability in giving presentations to large groups.

Note: Applicants must currently be authorized to lawfully work in the United States on a full-time basis.
