Budget Title: Admissions Assistant (SL-2)
Salary: $44,374 - $48,000 (full-time, temporary)
Binghamton University is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Admissions Operations Specialist, working as a key member of the Undergraduate Admissions office, performing duties to support the development and execution of effective and innovative admissions communications.
The Admissions Specialist will report directly to the Senior Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions and will assist with the following:
  • Write, update and maintain content for email and SMS communications related to recruitment and Admissions Operations
  • Construct and edit emails within our CRM, Slate using pre-built templates and HTML
  • Create, update and maintain complex queries to target populations for communications
  • Build registration forms and related communications
  • Thoroughly test and troubleshoot forms and communications
  • Ensure quality control for outgoing communications
  • Ensure timelines, benchmarks and due dates for communications and marketing materials are met
  • Continuously audit admissions communications to identify errors, updates and opportunities
  • Stay up to date with best practices and trends for admissions communications
  • Proofread and review communications and marketing materials for accuracy, consistency and purpose
  • Develop and maintain complex communications calendars and archives
  • Gather and compile feedback and suggestions from admissions counselors throughout the recruitment cycle to plan for future communications
  • Assist with planning for digital ad campaigns including reviewing creatives and landing pages, and compiling target lists

Requirements:
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent communication skills and outstanding writing skills
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability with learning new systems/technology
  • Ability to work successfully with a team
  • Ability to work some night and some weekends

Preferred:
  • Experience with CRM system (i.e. Slate)
  • Professional writing or marketing experience
