POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under direction from Provider, CNO, Director and Nursing Manager, the registered nurse delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Nurses effectively interact with patients and significant others, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. Hospital nurses provide care for pediatric and adult patients before and after surgical procedures, and with a broad range of medical conditions. Admission/Discharge nurses are responsible for completing the medication reconciliation, admission health history, and medication education for new admissions and discharges. Would also review any admissions/discharges done by staff RNs to ensure completion and continuity. Would also obtain any necessary orders, handing off to primary RN what still needs to be completed. Will be expected to support Med/Surg floor when needed per census. Gives direction to RN, LPN, CNA, Housekeeping staff, Dietary Staff and other allied services. Receives direction from Providers, Charge Nurse, and Nurse Manager/Director.

EDUCATION:

  • Nursing Program graduate, required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • MT RN licensure, required.
  • ACLS, PALS, and BLS, certification to be completed within 6 months of hire, required.
  • Follows most current standards for continuing education requirements as dictated by State/Federal licensure regulations, required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Medical/Surgical nursing experience, required.
  • IV skills, required.
  • Basic Office Skills, required.
