Description & Details:
The Office of Admission is seeking an organized, energetic, creative and collaborative team member to serve as our regional Twin Cities Admission Counselor. This position assists in planning and implementing recruitment and admission activities for NDSU. This full-time, remote 12-month position requires extensive travel (some overnight) primarily in the Twin Cities Metro, central/southern Minnesota, and Wisconsin, to provide college counseling to prospective students and their families. Other responsibilities include responding to inquiries, coordinating outreach programs, staffing events and conducting admission appointments in Fargo, and implementing creative recruitment activities to maintain and strengthen NDSU visibility.

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, 7;30-4:00 summer and breaks, occasional nights and weekends
Advertised Salary:
$52,000+ plus excellent benefits package
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Completed Bachelor's degree by time of hire
  • One year related experience
  • Exceptional written, interpersonal and presentation communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience establishing rapport and building relationships
  • Ability to independently execute multiple projects simultaneously and independently
  • Innovative, energetic, and committed to working in a team environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in the student body
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in recruitment and admission at a regionally accredited college or university
  • Bachelor's degree from NDSU or strong familiarity with NDSU programs
  • Experience working with high school students
  • Experience presenting in professional or persuasive settings
