Administrative Intern - Iowa Veterans Cemetery Representative

This is a non-merit internship. Only applicants who meet the Minimum Qualification Requirements (listed below) will be placed on the eligible list.
The Iowa Veterans Cemetery (IVC) near Van Meter is seeking a Cemetery Representative intern to provide direct support to help plan and administer daily cemetery operations. The Intern will engage directly with cemetery administrators, technician, and groundskeepers. They will also coordinate with funeral homes to plan, schedule and administer committal services for the Nation's fallen Veterans and their Families.
The ideal candidate is pursuing an advanced degree in funeral services, mortuary affairs and related fields, and can leverage this experience to enhance their overall academic prowess and help promote a professional curriculum vitae.
The successful candidate will comprehend NCA standards and the IVC Modernization plan and incorporate them in all plans and operations.
This IVC Intern will report to the IVC Bureau Chief and directly support the IVC Lead Workers in Grounds Keeping and Administration.

Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise. Applicants for positions in this class must be currently enrolled students in a degree program at an accredited educational institution, as determined by the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.
