DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions: Assist in all areas of the County Judge’s department as needed to facilitate the work of the Office of the County Judge, including but not limited to answering incoming calls, ordering supplies, and submitting payroll for the office; distribute incoming and outgoing mail, enter computer data and type documents; make travel arrangements, maintain records and confidentially as required. Assist with preparing for weekly Commissioners Court meetings by creating the Commissioners Court Agenda, making sure all department agenda requests meet the guidelines, and uploading all audio to the website. Serve as the Mental Health Administrator for the court by answering questions regarding mental health matters, prepare court dockets, process applications for mental health treatment received by various agencies, and process affidavits for mental health warrants. Provide limited assistance and emergency coverage as needed in probate matters. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED; knowledge of general clerical and secretarial functions; 2-3 years of related job experience preferably in a legal or government office environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of accepted office practices and procedures; strong verbal and written communication skills; good typing skills; computer skills, including word processing and data entry; bookkeeping skills; effective interpersonal skills including ability to interact and cooperate with co-workers and deal effectively with county officials, attorneys, and the general public.
WORK SITUATIONS/DEMANDS/EFFORT: Work requires organizing, prioritizing, accuracy and attention to detail; working with the public; flexibility in order to perform a variety of duties; performing routine, repetitive duties.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed primarily in a climate controlled office environment but may involve some work outside of the office. Must be available to work Monday through Friday, 8-5 PM.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is primarily sedentary; duties require frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 10lbs; walking, reaching and/or climbing; occasional prolonged sitting.
