The Adjunct Health and Nutrition Instructor responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing instruction for students enrolled in courses at Lamar State College Port Arthur, including dual credit high school students. Schedules vary depending on campus needs and may include day, evening, and/or weekend classes, and online classes. Flexible scheduling and online work arrangements are available (depending upon course type and configuration).

Master’s Degree in Family and Consumer Science, Biology, or a related field or a Master’s Degree and a minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours in Family and Consumer Science, Biology, or a related field.

Provide quality instruction.

Maintain ethical and professional standards.

Attend adjunct faculty meetings.

Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels.

Complete required training, such as Blackboard Online Instructor Certification and Title IX Training, etc.

Demonstrate good time management, verbal, and written communication skills.

Comply with the policies and procedures for the TSUS, LSCPA, HECB, TEA, SACSCOC, and other policies impacting LSCPA.

Demonstrated skill in using Microsoft Office products.

Specific adjunct duties related to the teaching assignment.

Other related duties as assigned.
