Job Function
Macomb Community College Part-time Faculty demonstrate deep subject matter knowledge and provide effective instruction to students using various modalities including, but not limited to, on campus, online, remote, hybrid, and flexible learning. Part-time Faculty are responsive to their students and support their success through timely communication, feedback, and assessment of student learning.
Job Responsibilities
- Teach subject matter as assigned by the department using assigned textbook.
- Maintain course materials in the College’s Learning Management System (LMS), including, but not limited to, announcement, syllabus, and gradebook.
- Keep gradebook up to date and submit final grades by published deadlines.
- Participate and actively cooperate with the department and Learning Unit to meet accreditation standards.
- Participate in course assessments that will accurately measure achievement of student learning outcomes as assigned.
- Complete training for various instructional delivery modalities as required.
- Maintain faculty credentials as required by the College’s accrediting agencies.
- Attend Faculty Development Days and/or Institutional Development Days as schedule permits.
- Participate in Learning Unit committees as schedule permits.
- Other duties as assigned in compliance with the AAFMCC collective bargaining agreement.
Education
- Master’s degree in subject matter directly related to the course to be taught
- Master’s degree in another field and twenty (20) graduate semester hours in the discipline (which may be part of the master’s degree course work)
Thirty (30) graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline as a part of a program leading to a degree higher than a master’s degree.
Qualifications
Teaching experience preferred.
