The Department of Marketing in the Davis College of Business and Economics at Radford University welcomes applications for Adjunct Faculty positions to assist in teaching undergraduate courses in Marketing whenever additional faculty are needed to provide instruction. Job Summary
Adjunct Faculty positions supplement the faculty in the Department of Marketing wherever additional faculty are needed. Adjunct faculty hold, as defined by their letter of appointment without eligibility for tenure; where authorized by the Dean, adjunct appointments may be renewed. Adjunct appointments do not guarantee course assignments. Specific responsibilities of Adjunct Faculty are given in their letter of appointment. The specific starting and expiration dates for appointments are noted in their letter of appointment. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduates in the area of the candidate’s specialization. Adjunct faculty shall be evaluated in every course, including summer session.
Physical Demands
Applicant must be able to teach face-to-face classes on the Radford University Campus and be available for meetings.
Required Qualifications
All faculty must have at least a Master’s degree in the field/discipline in which they are teaching with 18 hours of course work related to the course(s) being taught. In some cases, subject to the approval by the Provost, a faculty member could be recommended for appointment based on substitution of significant experience for the degree.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to individuals who have teaching experience, demonstrate collegiality and a commitment to achievement of student learning outcomes and high-quality teaching.
Education
Adjunct faculty must (1) hold an advanced degree or equivalent credentials based on experience consistent with accreditation criteria of the discipline and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools ( SACS ), and (2) be academically or professionally qualified consistent with the accreditation criteria of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business ( AACSB ).
All faculty must have at least a Master’s degree in the field in which they are teaching with 18 graduate hours of course work related to the specified discipline. In some cases, subject to the approval by the Provost, recommendation for appointment may be based on the substitution of significant experience for the degree. A memo from the Dean placed in the instructor’s personnel file is required to justify an exception to the accreditation standards of SACS and must include certification of the knowledge and skills.

If the applicant’s official transcripts are on file in the Office of the Provost, a statement indicating such, must be submitted in lieu of the documents with the application. Official transcripts of all post-secondary course work will be required upon selection for hire.
