Form of workThe Department of Natural Sciences at Texas A&M University-San Antonio (A&M-SA) seeks applications from qualified candidates for a part-time non-tenure track position in Biology, specializing in areas that would enable them to teach one or more of the following courses: General Biology I & II for majors and non-majors. Previous college-level or AP Biology teaching experience is required.
Responsibilities:
Teach lower and/or upper-division lecture courses for science majors
Teach lower and/or upper-division laboratory courses for science majors
Teach lower-division lecture courses for non-science majors
Create and maintain a safe environment for instruction and learning in a laboratory setting.
Maintain consistent communication with students and colleagues in the Biology program.
Required Education and Experience:
M.S. or Ph.D. from an accredited university in Biology, Zoology, or related field.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Previous university-level teaching experience.
Experience with Online teaching methodologies.
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Strong self-discipline and ability to work independently
Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students
Ability to interact with students from diverse backgrounds
