SalaryAt DevMountain Bootcamp, the Adjunct Subject Matter Expert will provide supplemental guidance and industry knowledge in order to guide students as they progress through specialization courses.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The primary activities of a Devmountain Subject Matter Expert are:
Curriculum Design Consulting: As the education team is designing new programs or modules, the Subject Matter Expert will participate in discussions regarding the direction and overall approach to the project.
Curriculum Creation: SMEs will contribute directly to the curriculum in crafting lab exercises, writing solution code for prompts, designing or deploying lecture slides.
Job Skills:
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to efficiently and correctly explain technical concepts to folks with little/no experience.
- Ability to break down complex cybersecurity concepts into smaller, more digestible components.
- Ability to discern topics that are most critical for students to be able to obtain employment in a given Subject Matter.
- Self-awareness, openness to daily feedback, and willingness to grow/change in response to student and organizational needs.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 1-year experience working in a role directly related to the Subject Matter: Cyber Security
- 2-3 years experience working in the Subject Matter (Preferred)
- Experience teaching teens/adults (Preferred)
- Experience presenting technical talks, workshops, or tutorials at conferences, meetups, or schools (Preferred)
- Experience Tutoring, mentorship, or management experience (Preferred)
Education:
- From an accredited institution, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational experience required.
Other:
- Typical office setting.
- Access information using a computer.
- Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
- Effectively cope with stressful situations.
- Strong mental acuity.
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
